Water Restrictions Are In Effect!
The City of Boerne is under Stage 2 “Mandatory” Water Restrictions as of July 1, 2008.   Some key rules to follow are:  sprinkler systems can be run only on designated days at designated time frames, drip irrigation and hand watering can be done at anytime still, and ornamental fountains can still be run if they are using recirculation techniques.  Please check out the link to the city’s website for further information regarding Stage 2 Water Restrictions.

Rain Water Harvesting Systems
Living in the Hill Country, we have learned that the weather is extremely unpredictable.  We tend to have summers with an abnormal amount of rain, and then the next will be a drought.  More and more homeowners are installing rain water harvesting systems on their property, for use in the landscape as well as the main water supply for the home.  For more basic information about rain harvesting systems please check out the link below.

The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) has a more in depth view and guidelines on how to set up and install a rain water harvesting system for your home.
